AVERAGE SCORE 7
Checkered Demon #2 features the Demon in a series of strips where he rumbles through a couple of warring biker gangs while simultaneously rescuing, fucking, abandoning and finally ransoming a kidnapped babe with a massive rack. A nice balance of brawling, balling and bamboozling in this one.

S. Clay Wilson may not have been the father of underground comics, but Victor Moscoso credits him with inspiring Robert Crumb and others to really let loose with their creations. Moscoso stated that Wilson's Checkered Demon "showed us that we were, without being aware of it, censoring ourselves."
