American Splendor #9 features two terrific stories; the lead story about a friend of Harvey's who visits Cleveland one weekend from Chicago. Harvey expects to have a great time but the visit turns out to be “A Semi-Bummer Weekend.” The other story is “Free Ride”, which is about Harvey's rocky relationship with a Jewish co-worker. The back cover provides an introspective moment about Harvey's legacy as a writer.
